Dr. Judd presented: Evaluation of the Sick Horse, in which he demonstrated a thorough exam of the horse's head, body and limbs. He demonstrated correct techniques for determining the source of a potential problem, and for determining the horse's vital signs. He stressed the importance of knowing your horse's normal vital signs and behavior. This was a hands-on demonstration in which observers were encouraged to ask questions and attempt certain procedures with guidance from Dr. Judd.

Vicki Coffin presented: Administering Medications, in which she demonstrated the correct techniques for administering oral, ophthalmic, and intramuscular medications. She discussed the most commonly used medications and methods for preparing medications for administration.
